My name is Gretchen Springer I am 22 and trying to begin Cosmetology school. I have always had a passion for beauty. I just love how you can transform how a person feels about themselves by changing their hair, nails, skin care, etc.. I have wanted to do cosmetology since I was a child, but when I finished high school my parents pressured me to go to college for a degree. I reluctantly decided to follow their request, because my parents would remove me from their health and car insurance and stop assisting me financially. Which left me with very few options considering I was a recent college graduate with a minimum wage job. I have since graduated with a degree in Business Administration, and have worked throughout college, however I still do not have enough for school, nor do I qualify for any federal assistance. I will not be getting assistance from my family for this, which makes it very difficult since I am still in dependent status according to FAFSA even though my parents no longer contribute financially. I am still applying for various scholarships and trying to find more options. I would be incredibly grateful for any assistance offered, to help me reach my dreams.
